Conal Casey, Senior Partner

Conal was admitted as a Solicitor in 1972 and worked for a number of years in local government legal service. He established his own practice in Derry in 1978 and over the last 40 years has built up a successful practice dealing with all types of work including in particular:-

Gerard Guckian, Partner

– Gerard (Gerry) has had many years of experience within the legal professional and obtained a BA(Hons) Law from the University of Kent at Canterbury in 1983. After attending the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in Belfast he qualified as a solicitor in 1985. Initially working in a defence litigation firm, Gerry joined the then Conal Casey Solicitors in 1988 and became a partner in 1990.

Whilst considered a leader in the field of children’s and family law by his peers, Gerry has lengthy experience also in general litigation, residential and commercial conveyancing, planning and employment law.

Gerry is accredited under the Children (NI) Order 1995 by the Law Society of Northern Ireland to act for children in specified proceedings and has been on the NI Guardian Ad Litem Panel since it was formed.


Edward Casey, Assistant Solicitor 01752761 edward

Edward graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast with a 2:1 Honours Degree in Law in 2008. Edward joined the firm in 2009 as an apprentice and completed his professional qualification in 2010 with Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Legal Practice from the GSPLE, University of Ulster, Magee.

Edward has build up an excellent relationship with clients and regularly attends at Police Stations assisting clients under PACE legislation. He also attends various criminal courts and assists with litigation and conveyancing.
